3 weeks without water in Venter

The community of Mmamahabane Ventersburg in the Free State haven’t had water on their taps for about 3 weeks now. The residents stand on long lines to access water from nearby streams.Resident have expressed concerns that the water is not in good conditions for human consumption as it is very dirty.

The matjhabeng local municipality is yet to meet with the community and explain the way forward.

In other news six people in the Free State have tested positive for Cholera after 76 visited clinics and hospitals in Parys and Kroonstad with diarrhoea infections.

Mathabo Leeto MEC for the department responsible held a meeting with relevant stakeholders to come up with interventions to help curb the spread of diarrhoea and cholera in the entire Free State.​​​​​​
