Ficksburg Shutdown. "The Mayor must go!"

Frustrated community of Ficksburg woke up very early today and closed the streets of Ficksburg and Meqheleng including R26 road that goes to Clocolan with burning tyres and stones. The protest is said to be over bad service delivery in the Municipality. According to the Shutdown invitation, Bad roads, sewage everywhere, Foreign owned businesses and the administration of Mayor Seipati Mbiwe.

 

The Community demand the Mayor to step down or else the Shutdown will continue. SAPS members from Ficksburg and surrounding towns have been deployed to help calm the situation. Rubbdr bullets and tear gas are currently been used to disperse the crowds.
