Former President Thabo Mbeki urges South Africans to unite and initiate a national dialogue following the May 29 elections to tackle gender-based violence.
He was speaking during a 30th anniversary celebration of democracy in Pretoria's Freedom Park.
And he stated that something must be done to address these concerns; we cannot continue to allow them to define our country. At the same time, our collaborative efforts must continue to prioritize nation-building and social cohesion, including the fight against gender-based violence.
